I think most of you are well aware I am a big fan of J.Crew - but I rarely buy anything from them when there's not a promo or sale going on (usually both). This dress however (and hell, this bag too), from the pre-fall collection, was too good to resist even at full retail price.
I think pattern mixing stripes and floral have become part of the standard style blogger repertoire. Want to stand out immediately without looking too out there in the real world? Try mixing these two patterns. But I honestly adore these two patterns together, so why would I mess with a no-fail classic combo anyways.
A dress makes for such an easy total outfit - add a few accessories to one and you're done! I like adding little touches to an outfit that give it a bit of personality without taking away from the main star of the outfit.

OK, this top is probably not the most flattering silhouette for my body type, but it's really fun and hides a multitude of weekend indulgences. Plus the last thing I want when it's really warm out (and it's still really warm out) is to wear clingy clothes. This whole outfit is breezy, easy and food baby friendly.
It's always easy to put together an outfit from my two favorite retailers - Anthropologie and J.Crew. Anthro's slightly whimsical pieces seem to mix well with the Crew's basics and I end up with an outfit that is both wearable and a wee bit quirky.
Alright, it's still only August, but school's already back in session here in the Southeast and most retailers are starting to release fluffy sweaters and wool coats, so it's inevitable that I'm already thinking of fall wear.
However, it's going to be pretty darn warm around here until late September at least, so realistically I've got to look into pieces that I can wear now and when it actually starts getting cold.
